Thank you for compiling a list of less known movies, I wanted to watch an animated movie tonight but I didn't know what to watch, this list helped a lot
I rarely see this get mentioned but Grizzly Tales for Gruesome Kids is such a good horror series for children, and some of the stories are actually scary
I bought the Rankin/Bass stop-motion film Mad Monster Party? on Bluray last year because I adore their Christmas films. Unfortunately, it was not their best work narratively. Fantastic character designs and aesthetics, but otherwise a slog to watch.
Love this one -- great write-up. A few others we find intriguing: The Apostle (the Spanish stop-motion film), Yamishibai (especially the first season) and the Japanese short Mekakure: https://vimeo.com/371132386

Always happy to see people mention MAD GOD. Unreal. I waited such a long time to see it and it didn't let me down.

Thanks for this list! One of my kid friendly favourites is the 1993 full length animated film of Ray Bradbury’s “The Halloween Tree”
Wow, not sure I ever saw this one—thanks for the rec!
Love that one! Still have it on VHS!
